Utsav raises $3.8m led by Atomic Capital

Kolkata-based spiritual and devotion platform Utsav has raised nearly $3.8 million (Rs 36 crore) in its Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital.

Existing backers India Quotient and Equanimity Investments also participated in the round, Entrackr reported.

With the latest capital infusion, Utsav’s total funding has reached around Rs 42 crore. The company had previously raised Rs 6.35 crore in January 2025.

Utsav plans to deploy the fresh capital towards expanding its network of partner temples, enhancing its technology and fulfillment infrastructure, and growing its workforce.

Founded by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta, Utsav connects devotees with temple priests, scholars, and acharyas through its digital platform. Its services include online puja bookings, consultations with priests, e-prasad, consecrated prasad, and customised religious rituals.

IAN Angel Fund backs CarbonStrong

IAN Angel Fund, the evergreen fund of IAN Group, has led a nearly $1.3-million (Rs 12.5 crore) investment in CarbonStrong, a Bengaluru-based climate-tech startup developing low-carbon cement substitutes from industrial waste.
The funding also saw participation from Rainmatter, Social Alpha, Spectrum Impact, and Full Circle Ventures, the company said in a statement.
The seed round will support CarbonStrong in setting up its first production facility, expanding its team, undertaking further product development and testing, and moving from customer trials to commercial-scale production.
The company aims to build a capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes a year over the next two years.
CarbonStrong takes industrial wastes and processes them into building materials that can replace a larger share of cement without requiring concrete manufacturers to change the way they operate.
