MakeO has raised nearly $9.5 million in a funding round led by Singularity AMC. Separately, Bower School of Entrepreneurship has raised pre-Series A funding, while NuSynth Technologies has raised $4 million in a seed funding round.
Singularity AMC leads funding in MakeO
MakeO, the parent company of clear aligner brand Toothsi, on Tuesday announced that it has raised nearly $9.5 million (Rs 90 crore) in a funding round led by Singularity AMC.
The round also saw participation from DSP family office, Genesis and Unispace Ventures, along with other funds and family offices, the company said in a statement.
The company plans to build a dental technology platform focused on India and Southeast Asia, the statement added.
“The capital through this raise will be allocated towards further organic and inorganic offline expansion across both India and Southeast Asia. It will allow us to invest in and strengthen our end-to-end platform across consumer experience, clinical centres, backend technology and manufacturing facilities,” said Dr Arpi Mehta, Group CEO and co-founder of MakeO.
The fundraise follows MakeO’s acquisition of Singapore-headquartered Zenyum, expanding its presence across Southeast Asia. The combined group operates a network of about 1,100 partner dentists across 10 countries and markets, including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan.
Bower School of Entrepreneurship raises pre-Series A
Bower School of Entrepreneurship has raised nearly $2.8 million (Rs 26.8 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round to strengthen its programmes, develop a standalone campus and expand its technology platform connecting learners, founders and its wider community.
The funds will also support growth through existing university partnerships and new institutional collaborations, the company said in a statement.
The latest round follows Bower’s Rs 11.5-crore seed funding, which saw participation from existing investors, new investors from the education sector, a Silicon Valley-based investor and other high-net-worth individuals.
“Over the past few years, we have worked to build an institution where entrepreneurship is experienced, practised and supported, not just taught,” said Pavan Allena, founder and CEO of Bower School of Entrepreneurship.
Avaana, Shastra lead $4m funding in NuSynth
NuSynth Technologies, an R&D-led process innovation platform focused on complex chemistry, has raised about $4 million (Rs 36.5 crore) in a seed funding round co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC.
The funds will be used to strengthen NuSynth’s research and development and technology capabilities, develop its initial portfolio of proprietary processes, build scale-up capabilities and the team.
NuSynth Technologies is an R&D-led process innovation platform focused on developing more efficient and scalable chemical synthesis processes. The company uses an AI-enabled engine that learns from experimental data to accelerate research and development, with an initial focus on pharmaceuticals and electronics chemicals.
Its approach involves redesigning chemical processes from first principles to improve cost efficiency, yields, safety and sustainability while developing proprietary process technologies for global markets.
